Where Should I Get Stock Images?

Getting quality images for your website can be a challenge. We have seen increasing reports that attorneys are cracking down on image and video copyrights. Lawyers use reverse-image Google searches to find where copyrighted images have been used without permission. If the site owner doesn’t have proof of rights or a license for the images, they could be fined, or worse. Here is how you can avoid legal troubles with your website images.

Adobe Stock

You should never leave licensing and copyrights to chance. You will get caught and fined if you use images without the proper license. To avoid this, we use Adobe Stock to ensure that all of our media assets are properly licensed. Adobe Stock provides documentation that proves you have permission to use the image, which is why we strongly recommend that you use it for stock photos if you aren’t going to hire a local photographer.

Hiring local photography and videography talent is a great way to get images for your site. While working with a photographer will be more expensive than buying a few stock images, on-location photography of your staff, facility, or products can help your site stand out even more. When working with local photographers, be sure to provide examples of the image style you prefer so you can make the most of your photoshoot. We are also happy to provide recommendations for some of the local artists we work with.

Getting quality images for your website can be a bit tricky, but it’s far from impossible. By properly licensing stock photos or hiring a local photographer, you will get your website to stand out with-out the risk of legal troubles.
